My name is Kendra Vickers and I would like to formally introduce myself as the owner, co-founder and Director of the Performance Studio Inc. As someone who grew up dancing in all styles of dance and musical theatre, I was inspired to build a studio where kids could have the same opportunities that I did, and benefit from a welcoming and inclusive environment that puts the dancer first.

Although to an outsider, the Performance Studio might look like a typical dance studio, it is much more than that to myself, my instructors, and to all of our Studio families. We have cultivated a culture of inclusivity, diversity and truthfully built a ‘second home’ for all of our students. We now have over 300 families that attend our Studio each week and return each year for more than just great dance lessons.

I have taught dance for over 15 years in Calgary, and have personally taught over 4,500 students in the last decade. While opening the Performance Studio, I earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Calgary, danced professionally with the Calgary Stampeders Outriders for seven years, and was the Head Coach of the Outrider team for the last five years. As well, I worked for over five years as a Senior Design Project Manager for one of Calgary’s most successful home builders, Rockwood Custom Homes.

The Performance Studio is my sole focus and I am excited and eager to enter our 10th year in a new location, and focus on growing the Studio to the next level. The next step for our Studio is a new location that will be our home for the next 10 years. I have put together a brief summary about the Performance Studio, our history and our plans to grow our business over the next 10 - 15 years.
